Governor’s video too edgy for some
The sight of California Gov. Arnold “The Governator” Schwarzenegger wielding a large knife is bound to make an impression, but for some residents of the economically struggling state, it was enough to make them want to say, “Hasta la vista, baby.” In July, Schwarzenegger posted a video on his page on the social networking site Twitter, at the beginning of which he sits at his desk admiring a 2-foot folding knife, according to the Associated Press (AP). A reporter asked the governor if, given the deep cuts the state has made to services in an attempt to close a $26 billion budget deficit, the video was appropriate. Schwarzenegger said he was trying to maintain his sense of humor. “Not that I have fun with making the cuts — they sadden me,” Schwarzenegger told the reporter. “But, that doesn’t mean that you cannot wave a knife around, or to wave your sword around, to get the message across that certain cuts have to be made because it’s budget time.”
