Zebra Technologies honored for military support
Zebra Technologies has received an award for the company’s outstanding support of employees serving in the National Guard and Military Reserve. A U.S. Department of Defense committee, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), recognized Zebra with its ESGR Patriot award.
Air National Guardsman and Zebra employee Todd O’Toole recommended Zebra Technologies for the honor in recognition of the support he and others received while deployed to active service. O’Toole returned in April from a tour in Iraq and continues to serve in the 115th Fighter Wing with the Air Force National Guard.
Lt. Col. Gary Pelletier of the 115th Fighter Wing recently presented the ESGR award to Zebra CEO Anders Gustafsson in a ceremony at Zebra’s Vernon Hills, Ill., headquarters.
“The Guard and Reserve forces spend more time away from their employers than ever before, taking a huge toll on U.S. employers,” Pelletier said. “Zebra has gone above and beyond in its support of these reservists, and we are pleased to recognize them as a patriotic employer.”
“We are honored to receive the ESGR Patriot award for Zebra’s commitment to our employees serving in the Guard and Reserves,” Gustafsson said. “Whether our employees are serving the community or serving their country, we support those who give of their time and effort to greater causes, and we are proud to be recognized for our commitment to them.”
Zebra produces specialty printers, automatic identification solutions, RFID products and software.
