The Washington-based International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is launching a program aimed at bringing more public policy and administration students into local government.
The Washington-based International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is launching a program aimed at bringing more public policy and administration students into local government. The Local Government Management Fellowship (LGMF) program will place fellows in management-track positions with mentorship from senior managers.
LGMF was created in response to information gathered by ICMA that indicates that most public policy and public administration students do not pursue careers in local governments because they are not aware of the opportunities available. The application period for the LGMF runs from Sept. 12 until Nov. 14. For registration and more information, go to www.icma.org.
