The Hudson River Park Trust opened the renovated Pier 66 and a connected park on Manhattan’s West Side last month. The 500-foot pier features a new boathouse for non-motorized boats, boat slips and artwork. The park covers three city blocks and is landscaped to attract birds and wildlife. The pier and park, part of a larger revitalization project on Manhattan’s West Side managed by Parsippany, N.J.-based Skanska USA Building, was under construction for 18 months.
