A former fundraiser and confidant of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has returned to the country to plead not guilty to federal fraud charges. FBI agents escorted Antoin Rezko to court Thursday after he returned from a business trip to the Middle East, according to the Chicago Tribune. While Rezko was gone, a grand jury indicted him on charges that he used his influence with the state government to extort bribes from investment firms doing business with the state and engaged in fraud in the sale of his pizza restaurant chain.
