Republican pushes for staff reduction in Connecticut town’s budget
One Republican leader in Greenwich, Conn., says the town’s Board of Estimate and Taxation should have included benchmarks for the size of the city’s staff in recently approved budget guidelines
One Republican leader in Greenwich, Conn., says the town’s Board of Estimate and Taxation should have included benchmarks for the size of the city’s staff in recently approved budget guidelines. Board member Robert Stone, who has previously proposed cuts in staffing, cited a survey that shows that the city’s staff is out of proportion with neighboring municipalities, and he thinks the staff levels should be justified, according to the Greenwich Time. Opponents to staff cuts say comparisons to other cities are misrepresentative and staff reductions could interrupt services.
