Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is trying to rally federal support for his city’s bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. Daley went to Washington this week to lobby lawmakers and the White House in an effort to secure the $6.5 billion that the Olympics are expected to bring to Chicago’s economy, according to the Chicago Tribune. Daley also took some time to press Washington for an increase in the federal minimum wage and to seek the Federal Aviation Administration’s approval for privatizing Midway Airport.
