For 17 years, Seattle has imposed moratorium after moratorium on permitting strip clubs in the city. Now that a federal judge has ruled those moratoriums unconstitutional, and there is a chance voters will repeal laws intended to make the clubs unprofitable, the city has to decide how to keep adult entertainment facilities in their place, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Mayor Greg Nickels has proposed creating a 310-acre strip club district, but the city’s planning commission and members of the city council prefer to stay with existing rules that would allow the clubs in most industrial zones.
