Water for hunger
In mid-February, representatives of American Water Resources presented a $5,000 donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. American Water Resources offers optional water and sewer line protection programs to customers of Metro Water Services (MWS) in Nashville as part of an exclusive partnership with the utility. Last fall, American Water Resources committed to make a $1 donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee for each new MWS customer enrolled in its service line protection programs between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2014. The donation, which represents 5,000 new enrollments, will help Second Harvest Food Bank provide 20,000 meals for people struggling with hunger in Middle and West Tennessee. Barbara Boyarsky, Vice President and General Manager for American Water Resources, presented the check (holding check on the left) to Melinda Judd, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee Director of Corporate Engagement (standing at middle of the check). Holding the check on the right is Martha Segal, Assistant Director of Customer Service for Metro Water Services.
