The Clinton Regional Water Reclamation Facility (RWRF), serving Clinton, Camanche and Low Moor, opened in the fall of 2012 at a cost of $48,400,000. Paid for with a low-interest loan from the Iowa Finance Authority, a $2.5 million I-Jobs grant and an $860,000 STAG Grant, the RWRF provides economic and environmental benefits.
The first Biological Nutrient Removal facility in Iowa, the RWRF addresses environmental compliance issues that had plagued the region. The facility is working to improve water quality in the Mississippi River and to reduce detrimental impacts to marine life thousands of miles away in the Gulf of Mexico.
