Miami-Dade County, Fla., recently received $1.135 million from ConEdison Solutions resulting from the federal 179D allocation associated with recent improvements to the county?s downtown chilled water system. The system serves 12 facilities, including County Hall, several courthouses, the Network Access Point of the Americas and the American Airlines Arena. Associated system improvements were engineered to qualify for the federal tax incentives while additionally benefiting the county by being self-funded over a 15-year period through energy-cost reductions.
