California:
A) Prop 62 (initiative statute) prohibits capital punishment. Did not pass.
B) Prop 66 (initiative statute) limits death penalty appeals and overrides Proposition 62. Passed.
Nebraska: Referendum No. 426 reinstates capital punishment or continues to ban it. Voted in favor of keeping death penalty.
Oklahoma: State Question No. 776 legalizes capital punishment in the state constitution, but if the court decides that the execution is “cruel and unusual punishment,” the death sentence will stay while a new execution method is selected. Passed.
