Washington is classified as a hyperconnected city leader — it is “Ahead of most peers in interconnecting [its] urban ecosystem and seeing significant economic, business, and social benefits,” according to the “Building a Hyperconnected City” report by ESI Thought Labs.
Including the 76 other international cities in the 100-city index, Washington is ranked 14th.
Among the four pillars of city transformation helped determine the report’s hyperconnected cities index, Washington placed 16th in the technology pillar ranking and 15th in the connected citizens pillar ranking.
