Chicago is classified as a hyperconnected city leader — it is “Ahead of most peers in interconnecting [its] urban ecosystem and seeing significant economic, business, and social benefits,” according to the “Building a Hyperconnected City” report by ESI Thought Labs.
Including the 76 other international cities in the 100-city index, Chicago is ranked 12th.
Among the four pillars of city transformation helped determine the report’s hyperconnected cities index, Chicago placed 8th in the technology pillar ranking and 10th in the connected citizens pillar ranking.
