California: Prop 57 (initiative amendment + statute) would increase parole opportunities for nonviolent offenders. Passed.
Colorado: Amendment T (legislative constitutional amendment) would prohibit authorities from forcing prisoners to do unpaid labor and take out slavery-related language from the Colorado constitution. Did not pass.
New Mexico: Constitutional Amendment 1 would forbid officials from keeping people in jail just because they cannot post bail. Also allows dangerous defendants to be denied bail. Passed.
