New York is classified as a hyperconnected city leader — it is “Ahead of most peers in interconnecting [its] urban ecosystem and seeing significant economic, business, and social benefits,” according to the “Building a Hyperconnected City” report by ESI Thought Labs.
Including the 76 other international cities in the 100-city index, New York is ranked 3rd. Ahead of it, Hong Kong is ranked 2nd and Singapore is ranked 1st.
Among the four pillars of city transformation helped determine the report’s hyperconnected cities index, New York placed 16th in the data & analytics pillar ranking and 5th in the connected citizens ranking.
