The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear local government arguments about Internet access via cable modems. According to the National Association of Counties, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on appeal that cable modem service is a “telecommunications service” and, therefore, cable operators must make their lines available to Internet service providers.
