Parts of Boston’s Big Dig won’t be fixed for months, officials say, and the city is now making plans to ease traffic delays over the Labor Day weekend. Daytime roadwork will be delayed, while work on several other projects was accelerated to make sure they were finished by the weekend, and extra personnel and trips were added on commuter rail lines to relieve congestion, according to the Boston Globe. About 3,300 ceiling brackets must be repaired in the Interstate 90 connector tunnel where a ceiling collapse killed a female motorist more than seven weeks ago.
