Monday, the Tucson, Ariz., City Council unanimously approved increasing fines for false burglar alarms. The new law also subjects home owners and business owners to a fine after the third false alarm instead of the current limit of five. The goal of the law is to reduce the amount of time police officers spend responding to false alarms. To give security companies time to make the necessary changes and alarm owners time to make sure their alarms are in working order, the Police Department will delay enforcement of the new rules until Jan. 1. http://www.dailystar.com/dailystar/metro/23421.php
