Schaumburg approves construction contract
The groundbreaking for a new convention center and 500-room hotel is not far off, after the trustees in Schaumburg, Ill., approved a $156 million construction contract.
The groundbreaking for a new convention center and 500-room hotel is not far off, after the trustees in Schaumburg, Ill., approved a $156 million construction contract. Money for the project will come from 40-year bonds, a 2 percent telecommunications tax, a 2 percent hotel room tax and the future income of the new complex. An opening is scheduled for July 2006.
