Cleveland Metroparks officials celebrated the opening of two pedestrian bridges that cost $5.2 million. Officials say the two 580-foot-long bridges are needed to safely carry a popular pedestrian trail over two busy roads that, in the 1970s, were the scene of a fatal accident in which a truck killed several people on the side of the road, according to The Sun Courier. About 1.5 million people are expected to cross the bridges over the next 10 years.
