State Offers Internet Safety Course
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has begun an educational campaign about the dangers of the Internet, including training seminars on viruses and identity theft. One-day seminars, open to the public at no cost, were held in Bartow, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Titusville.
The C-SAFE program was developed by Secure Florida, the FDLE, and the Florida Cybersecurity Institute.
“Cyber security is a critical issue for every citizen in our state, and the C-SAFE course will provide Floridians with tools and tips on how they can make their systems safer and protect important data,” stated Gov. Jeb Bush. Topics for the seminars will include discussions on safe email and recognizing Internet scams.
