It was not the fact that he is transgendered that led to an official censure for Silverton, Ore., Mayor Stu Rasmussen so much as his taste in clothing, according to Portland, Ore., television station KATU.
In early August, the Silverton City Council voted to reprimand Rasmussen for wearing an open-back bathing suit, mini skirt and high heels while speaking before a group of children at an event for a non-profit group. A member of the group complained, leading to the censure, which essentially means that the council officially disapproved of his outfit.
