Who said driveways are for cars?
Toledo, Ohio, Mayor Carty Finkbeiner does not seem to think they are, at least not the unpaved driveways. Finkbeiner ignited a controversy in June when he directed his Streets, Bridges and Harbor Commissioner Sue Frederick to issue $25 tickets to residents who parked their cars on gravel or dirt driveways at their homes, according to Toledo ABC affiliate WTVG. Finkbeiner cited a city ordinance that prohibits parking on unpaved ground, and Frederick said she had received calls from other residents who wanted her to ticket illegally parked neighbors. Councilman Mike Collins has been trying to get the tickets rescinded.
