National Employee Benefits Day scheduled for April 2
The importance of retirement security is the primary theme of this year’s National Employee Benefits Day, scheduled for April 2. The Brookfield, Wis.-based International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) urges benefits professionals to use the day to educate themselves and their participants about the need to plan for the post-employment years.
IFEBP will hold two free video presentations on the day featuring retirement and economic experts discussing the current economy’s implications for benefit plan sponsors and the future of retirement security. “Given the economic downturn, I think employers need to think about one key factor — assume this economic recession is going to go on for two to three years,” said one of the experts, Washington-based Employee Benefit Research Institute President Dallas Salisbury, in a statement. “This will allow employers and workers to be the best prepared for whatever lies ahead.”
The presentations will be available on IFEBP’s National Employee Benefits Day page.
