The American Community Survey, released in December, paints a specific picture of life in more than 2,500 counties and cities with populations between 20,000 and 64,999.
An 82% increase in residents over 25 with bachelor’s degrees occurred in Lincoln County, S.D., between 2000 and 2007.
18 of the 20 mid-sized communities with median home values of $900,000 or greater are in California.
10% of the houses in Goodyear, Ariz.; Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and North Point, Fla., were built in 2005 or later. The national average is 1.9 percent.
