PERI to hold infrastructure symposium
The Fairfax, Va.-based Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI) is planning a free online symposium titled “Infrastructure Risk and Renewal: The Clash of Blue and Green.” The symposium will address ways to reconcile the environmental protection, or “green,” movement with the “blue” concerns of public safety and homeland security.
PERI also has issued a call for papers on the subject of reconciling sustainability and environmental protection with public safety needs, and some of those papers will be read during the symposium, which is scheduled for Jan. 14-18, 2008. Lewis Perelman, a homeland security expert from George Washington University in Washington, will moderate the symposium.
Information on submitting papers and registering for the symposium is available on the PERI Web site, www.riskinstitute.org/PERI/SYMPOSIUM.
