The Collier County, Fla., School Board has contracted with Tampa, Fla.-based PBS&J to build a bridge over Golden Gate Canal to provide easier access to a nearby high school. The Texas Department of Transportation also has contracted with the company to consult on general engineering for the proposed Texas Grand Parkway, a 180-mile highway that would encircle Houston.
The Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority, Albany Transit System, Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit and Central New York Regional Transportation Authority, all in New York, have purchased 113 hybrid-powered buses from Detroit-based General Motors.
The Florida Department of Transportation District 1 has contracted with New York-based PB, formerly Parsons Brinckerhoff, to provide access management consultations for central Florida, including the impact of new residential development on the state’s highways. Also, Tallahasse, Fla., has contracted with the company to perform engineering and inspections for a design-build roadway improvement project. The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority has contracted with the company to engineer and inspect improvements on the Miami-Dade Expressway.
