Clayton County, Ga., is giving substance abusers a new chance to avoid jail. The county is planning to form a DUI/Drug Court that would require drug and alcohol offenders to seek help and regularly report back to a state court judge, not just when they violate their probation, according to the Clayton County News Daily. A $71,117 grant from the Department of Justice is covering most of the cost of the court, and eventually officials hope to collect enough in fees to cover the other costs.
