Aspen councilman can call himself an architect
Aspen, Colo., City Councilman Jack Johnson says he is completely vindicated by a judge’s ruling that a state board violated his constitutional rights when it censured him for calling himself an architect. Johnson made the statement during a political forum before he was elected, saying he had a degree in architecture but wasn’t licensed in Colorado, according to The Aspen Times. A local resident complained to the Colorado Board of Examiners of Architects, and the board threatened Johnson with criminal sanctions if he continued to identify himself as an architect. However, on Tuesday a District Court judge ruled that, so long as Johnson was not trying to solicit business, he could call himself an architect. http://www.aspentimes.com/article/20060510/NEWS/105100034
