A judge ruled Monday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency can stop payment for 12,000 families still in hotels following Hurricane Katrina. According to an Associated Press report on CNN.com, FEMA is offering federal assistance that the families can use toward hotel stays or fixing their homes, but it will no longer directly pay the hotels.
