Connecticut is joining eight other states and the District of Columbia in a lawsuit against Winston-Salem, N.C.-based R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for marketing its Eclipse cigarettes as a safer brand.
Connecticut is joining eight other states and the District of Columbia in a lawsuit against Winston-Salem, N.C.-based R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for marketing its Eclipse cigarettes as a safer brand. According to the Hartford Courant, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said that the false claims violate consumer protection laws and the Master Settlement Agreement with the tobacco industry.
