Indianapolis-area voter ranks swelled to 75,000 last year, a reflection of a national rise in interest in this year’s presidential election. According to the Indianapolis Star, registrations in the nine-county metro area are far ahead of those before the 2000 election. More than 44,800 Marion County residents registered this year compared to just 34,811 for the same period in the last presidential election.
