Charlotte, N.C., will get to rebuild Piedmont Courts, one of its oldest and most run-down public housing complexes. Three years after the federal government rejected a grant application to rebuild the complex, HUD approved $20 million to build 242 public housing units and revitalize the neighborhood. Officials are not sure when demolition will begin, but new federal rules will mean the grant must be used in five years. http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/classifieds/real_estate/8824231.htm
