D.C. reacts to Section 8 housing cuts
Michael Kelly, executive director of the District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA), is urging government leaders to reconsider proposed budget cuts to the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP), also known as Section 8, that would stifle its growth and lead to decreased opportunities for America’s low –income dwellers.

Proposed changes would include eliminating the rule that 75% of vouchers go to families who are extremely poor and another that families pay two-fifths of their income to rent.
