County Administrator
Calumet County, population 42,361, is accepting applications for the position of County Administrator which is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to lead a progressive and growing county through changing times.
This position, which is appointed by and accountable to the 21 member Board of Supervisors, directs, administers and coordinates the activities of the county government and includes the following duties: attending meetings, appointing & supervising department heads, preparing the annual budget, appointing Boards and Commissions, and other duties pertaining to the day-to-day operations of the County. County operations include 25 departments consisting of 363 employees, and an annual budget of $35M.
This position requires a minimum of a BS/BA with an emphasis in public administration, business administration, or other closely related field (MasterÕs degree preferred), with a minimum of ten years experience at a responsible management level; and a minimum of five years experience in public sector management in a unionized work environment. Administrative experience with strategic planning, public finance, and public sector labor relations is also a plus. The starting compensation package for the successful candidate is negotiable contingent upon qualifications and experience.
