St. Louis first responders conduct train-bombing-response drill
St. Louis firefighters and other first responders participated in an early Sunday morning drill that simulated a bombing in a Metrolink train tunnel. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the drill was funded by a grant from the Washington, D.C.-based Federal Transit Administration. “In a simulation, bona fide firefighters used stretchers to carry three people pretending to be injured from a MetroLink train … Firefighters also evacuated seven other ‘injured’ people who could walk,” the paper says. “Metro officials took notes on the training exercise and will determine later whether it was successful or whether they should recommend changes in procedure.” For more information, visit
