Urban Planners Find Help on the Web
The American Planning Association (APA), Washington, D.C., has published an Internet guide for urban and regional planners. The guide, “Online Resources for Planners,” was written by Sanjay Jeer, senior research associate for the association.
Intended for planners, consultants, planning commission members, students and citizens, the report provides direction to databases, maps, text files and other information on the Web. It offers tips on tailoring Internet searches and planning town meetings.
Web addresses and content reviews of some of the 900 categorized Internet sites are included, as well as mailing lists and appendices.
Copies of the 125-page report may be purchased from the APA’s Planners Book Service. The cost is $17 for subscribers and $34 for non-subscribers. Contact the APA at (312) 786-6344; fax, (312) 431-9985; or e-mail, [email protected].
