The arrest last week of soul music icon James Brown on a domestic violence charge has left the singer’s hometown of Augusta, Ga., rethinking its plans to build a statue of him and to rename the city’s annual music festival after him, according to The Associated Press (AP). The city will wait until the case is resolved before proceeding. “This is certainly not anything anybody could have planned for,” Mayor Bob Young told the AP. “It’s extremely unsettling and disturbing, but we’ll have to wait and see how this plays itself out.” For more information, visit
