The feeling of safety we have within cities is contingent on a host of factors. A lack of violent crime and natural disasters, as well as a large presence of first responders and economic health are just a few of the components people look for when determining how safe their community is.

Financial news and information site Wallethub looked at 182 American cities and used 39 key indicators to compare their home and community safety, natural disaster risk and financial safety. The resulting analysis ranked the cities from safest to least safe.
