Mesa, Ariz.
In 2014, Mesa, Ariz., completed the construction of its new $108 million dollar Spring Training Baseball Facility and Riverview Park complex. The new Cubs Stadium, now called Sloan Park, has a seating capacity of 15,000, which includes stadium seats, lawn seating near the outfield, and bleacher seating on a rooftop deck.  The new spring training facility consists of six practice baseball fields, a 65,000- square-foot clubhouse, complete with locker and training rooms, hydrotherapy facilities and other player amenities. Additionally, Riverview Park boasts a 5.4-acre lake stocked with trout, bass, catfish and perch for urban fishing.  The park area also has a family activity playing area that includes a “spray ground” with multiple water features, a 50-foot-tall Genesis climbing tower, a 60-foot-long rope climbing structure, a rock climbing wall, shaded picnic areas, restrooms, sports fields and plenty of room for outdoor fun.
