7. Derry, N.H.
This area features the two easternmost counties in New Hampshire—Rockingham and Strafford—which offer peaceful suburban living along the Atlantic coast and further inland. There is also convenient access to Boston, for some city excitement. Derry was also named to the Best Cities for Military Families list (No. 2).
