10 most creative U.S. cities

  • Written by Michelle M. Havich
  • 17th November 2021

At the height of the COIVD pandemic and ensuing lockdown, people found themselves with a lot of time on their hands. And, judging from posts on social media, they put those idle hands to work on things like puzzles, learning how to dance and baking bread. Some discovered hidden talents and new passions as a way to express themselves, even moving them to pursue entirely different careers. Creativity comes in many forms and many places from coast to coast. A recent study from SINGULART looked to find which cities in America are home to the most creative residents.

The study is based on a Censuswide survey of 1,518 Americans conducted in September 2021, and it looked at factors including the amount of hours per week spent on creative tasks and hobbies, the percentage of people in or training to be in a creative field, as well as those who create art, clothing, and textiles, enjoy performing and writing music and poetry, SINGULART created an index that ranks the top creative cities across the states.
