Seven-reel mower with sizable cutting width now available
Jacobsen, a Textron Inc. company, has launched its LF557/LF577 seven-reel mower. The firm also recently announced some enhancements to its current LF550/LF570 mower series.
The LF557/LF577 is a Tier 4 Final, seven-reel mower. The LF557 is equipped with five-inch reels and the LF577 is equipped with seven-inch reels. Both mowers boast a cutting width of 139 inches. This width allows the ability to mow up to 11 acres per hour.
The LF557/LF577 features more than three feet of additional cutting width, compared to previous models, says Lee Frie, product manager for Jacobsen. He says the additional width allows turf managers to increase productivity without sacrificing quality-of-cut. The model, he says, is suited for operators of sports fields and golf courses who want smooth, pristine-looking turf. The Jacobsen LF577 seven-reel mower is pictured below on the left.
The five-reel models (existing LF550/LF570) and new seven-reel models (LF557/577) feature technology that simplifies operation and service. An AdaptiThrottle automatically manages engine speed based on demand, thus reducing fuel consumption and noise, according to the company. The mowers’ InCommand Control System delivers pass-code-protected, programmable max transport and mow speed settings to control cut frequency. A new nine-bladed reel is also available for all 5-inch reel LF models (LF510/LF550/LF557).
The new mower series features maintenance reminders that are displayed automatically on-screen and scheduled intervals to aid in proper service and increased up-time.
Charlotte, N.C.-based Jacobsen has over 90 years of experience in the turf maintenance industry.
