Waterplay Solutions’ aquatic play areas and fitness equipment (with related video)

Waterplay Solutions' aquatic play areas and fitness equipment are ideal for municipal recreation departments, water play parks, city and school swimming pools, and wading pools.
  • Written by American City & County Administrator

Waterplay Solutions designs aquatic play areas with the goal of engaging children’s minds and senses as well as offering physical activity in a fun environment. Combinations of spray, sound and cause-and-effect relationship play engage children of all ages and abilities. Slide activity centers, one of the company’s latest designs, have deck and flume options that allow flexible configurations and customization. The curved decks, stairs and panels are visually appealing as well as durable, with stainless steel construction and a powder-coat finish. With above-grade, flange mounted columns that are fastened to concrete, the slide activity centers can be used in new and existing environments, including sloped decks, aquatic play pads, swimming pools and wading pools.

The water play park builder at the company’s website offers planners an opportunity to design a customized spray park by choosing features and clicking on a quote. The company’s sales and design teams also can assist in developing age-appropriate spaces to optimize custom theme features.

The company’s line of aquatic fitness equipment can help people of all ages and abilities work toward a healthier lifestyle, as well as help facilities enhance recreation activities or promote rehabilitation. The equipment has been designed to bring the gymnasium to any swimming pool over 1.1 meters deep (3.6 feet). The benefits of exercising in water as well as the zero impact nature of exercising with aquatic fitness equipment can assist in a healthier lifestyle for people of all ages and abilities. From elite athletes, patients with physical rehabilitation needs or people just starting to feel their age, the aquatic fitness equipment system works with the natural properties of buoyancy and resistance to create a zero-impact, cardio-vascular and aerobic workout. The firm’s line of equipment consists of eight portable, compact units that can be easily installed and removed to suit existing pool needs. Aquatic fitness equipment includes space-saving Aqua-Cycle, Aqua-Climber, Aqua-Stepper, Aqua-Rower, Aqua-Twister, Aqua-PullDip and Aqua-Abs.

Waterplay Solutions has been a part of the aquatic park industry since 1987. Meeting local health regulations as well as changes in regulations surrounding water conservation and water reuse over the years has challenged the company to provide planners with the tools to build environmentally sensitive parks by creating more efficient products. From low-flow nozzles to ultraviolet disinfection, the company continues to create practical and functional water management solutions. The water management systems provide two alternatives to the average “drain to waste” system: water treatment systems, and retain and reuse systems. The goal for the water management system is to be as efficient as possible while maintaining water quality.
