EPA to hold webinar on electronic reporting rule
The Environmental Protection Agency plans to hold a webinar Sept. 14 to provide information on the development of the proposed National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Electronic Reporting Rule, which would require electronic reporting of NPDES information from regulated facilities. The webinar is intended specifically for NPDES permittees and their trade associations.
The webinar will begin at 1 p.m. and will allow permittees, trade associations and other interested stakeholders to ask questions and provide informal comments related to the proposed rule. Expected benefits from the new rule, according to EPA, include lower processing costs for facilities and states; improved data quality and accuracy; greater data accessibility and transparency for the public; and an increased ability to target and address noncompliance that will improve and protect water quality.
