It’s all about name recognition
Courts have rejected a candidate for the Wisconsin Legislature's bid to put an obscene description under her name on the ballot.
Candidate for the Wisconsin Legislature Ieshuh Griffin apparently wanted to stand out on the ballot during the state’s upcoming election. However, her desire to describe herself on the ballot as “NOT the whiteman’s b—-” did not go over well in court, according to the Associated Press and the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.
In July, Griffin tried to sue state officials who refused put her addendum on the ballot, but a federal judge dismissed the suit. Then, in August, U.S. District Judge Rudolph Randa rejected her appeal. Griffin said she would attempt to appeal the order directly to the U.S. Supreme Court.
