National Civic League seeks All-America City Award nominations
The Denver-based National Civic League (NCL) is accepting applications for the 2010 All-America City Award. Now in its 61st year, the All-America City Awards recognize neighborhoods, villages, towns, cities, counties and metro regions for innovative, grassroots strategies that promote inclusiveness, civic engagement and cooperation between the public, private and nonprofit sectors.
March 15 is the deadline to enter the contest, and the finalists for the competition will be announced April 5. Each finalist community will send a delegation to the three-day awards event, which will be held June 16-18 in Kansas City, Mo. More than 500 communities have won the contest previously. Last year’s winners addressed such issues as housing for seniors, immigration, education, economic development and neighborhood revitalization.
A Webinar will be conducted Feb. 17 to help participants through the application process. Download an application or request one by e-mailing Kristin Seavey at [email protected] or calling (303) 571 4343.
