There is no free parking
A Brooklyn man’s entrepreneurial spirit went a little too far in December when he decided to take over a city-owned garage.
The man, who was not identified by the Associated Press, allegedly broke into the closed garage near the old seaport district and Wall Street, reopened it and began charging drivers money to park.
The scam lasted one day, but on the second day the city’s Department of Investigation chased him off, then tracked him down using DNA from a soda can he left at the scene. The man has been charged with burglary and criminal impersonation.
