Sixty-seven percent of 1,000 respondents to a nationwide survey this summer reported they were willing to pay more in tolls, taxes or public transit fares to fund transportation improvements in their area, such as highway capacity expansions and high-speed rail. According to the “America THINKS” survey from Kansas City, Mo.-based HNTB Holdings, most respondents preferred paying higher or more tolls or public transportation fees to raising taxes.
